My Approach to Teaching

I believe spiritual development should be an enjoyable, empowering and personal experience.

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers, and you certainly don’t need to compare your progress with anyone else’s.

Whether you’re completely new to spiritual development or looking to strengthen existing abilities, my aim is to help you feel comfortable, supported and confident as you learn.

My teaching focuses on:

• Confidence: Learning to trust yourself and your experiences.
• Understanding: Developing knowledge alongside practical exercises.
• Individuality: Recognising that everyone learns and develops differently.
• Compassion: Approaching spiritual work with kindness, sensitivity and respect.
• Responsibility: Encouraging ethical practice, discernment and appropriate boundaries.

I encourage questions, independent thinking and practical experience throughout the learning process.

From Personal Experience to Teaching Others

Like many people, my path hasn’t always been straightforward. I’ve experienced personal challenges, significant life changes and moments when I questioned my own abilities and direction.

Before establishing Age of Awakening, my life took me through several different careers and experiences, including running my own shipping business and serving as a lifeboat crew member for three years.

Each chapter of my life taught me something valuable. My time on the lifeboat reinforced the importance of responsibility, teamwork, compassion and supporting people during some of their most difficult moments. Running my own business taught me determination, resilience and the confidence to overcome challenges.

But some of my greatest lessons came from my own personal experiences.

Through counselling, self-reflection and learning to understand myself more deeply, I began recognising the importance of self-belief, setting boundaries and finding the courage to follow a path that felt right for me.

Those experiences taught me that personal growth isn’t always comfortable or straightforward. Sometimes we have to question everything we’ve believed about ourselves before we can begin recognising our own worth.

My spiritual development became an important part of that journey. Over time, my desire to explore and understand my own abilities grew into something much bigger: a genuine passion for helping others discover theirs.

Today, I use those lessons to help others explore their spiritual abilities in a supportive, encouraging and down-to-earth environment.

Age of Awakening was created from that desire — to provide an accessible, welcoming place where people can explore spiritual subjects, develop their knowledge, ask questions and grow in confidence without fear of judgement.

My courses are designed to combine clear explanations, practical exercises and opportunities for personal reflection.

I believe that spiritual development is a personal journey. Everyone learns differently, and there is no need to compare your progress with anyone else’s.

Whether you’re exploring spirituality for the first time, looking to strengthen your existing abilities or hoping to develop skills that may eventually help others, my aim is to provide the knowledge, encouragement and guidance you need to move forward with confidence.

Beyond the Classroom

Alongside my teaching and mediumship work, I’m also the author of two books, both inspired by my personal experiences and the lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Out of the Shadows: From Despair to Self-Acceptance and Love is my memoir, sharing my journey through difficult relationships, emotional abuse, personal struggles and the long process of healing, forgiveness and learning to accept myself.

Black Sheep Matters: Book of Life Lessons takes a different approach, combining honesty, humour and a little sarcasm to encourage readers to embrace their individuality, establish healthy boundaries and stop living according to other people’s expectations.

Although the books are very different, they share one important message:

You deserve to be accepted, respected and valued for who you truly are.

That belief is also at the heart of everything I teach.

A Personal Message From Me

I know how daunting it can feel to begin something new, particularly when you’re unsure of your abilities, lack confidence or wonder whether you’ll fit in.

But I also know how rewarding it can be when you begin discovering abilities, strengths and qualities within yourself that you never realised were there.

I don’t believe anyone should feel pressured to develop at a particular pace or follow someone else’s spiritual beliefs.

My role as your tutor is to share my knowledge and experience, offer guidance, encourage your curiosity and help you develop your own understanding with confidence and an open mind.

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, exploring new ideas and, most importantly, enjoying the learning experience.

You don’t have to be perfect to begin. You just have to be willing to learn.
